IC 1582 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 473 million light years from the Milky Way and about 155,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1576 , IC 1578 , IC 1587 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on November 3, 1898 .
