IC 1576 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 725 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 150,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 253 , IC 1578 , IC 1581 , IC 1582 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on November 3, 1898 .
