action
The joy is great at Mockingbird Lane 1313. Herman inherited Munster-Hall Castle and the title of Lord Munster from his English uncle .
So the Munster family set off for Europe by ship. However, the English branch of the family is not that keen on this matter. Herman's cousin Freddie should have been the next Lord Munster, but his late father thought he was utterly incapable. Arrived at Munster-Hall, the murderous Freddie, together with his sister and his scheming mother Lady Munster, first tried to drive away Herman and Annex using some very suspicious methods, including a midnight haunted show, but this didn't quite work out.
After a few more tangles, Herman and Grandpa Munster can solve the great mystery of Munster-Hall. Lady Effigie Munster runs a counterfeiting company in the vaults of the venerable castle together with her failed offspring. Incidentally, during a spectacular car race, Herman can also settle a centuries-old feud between the Munsters' family and the mayor's family.
Cousin Freddie, his mother and sister are arrested and the peace between the two families is further underpinned by Marilyn and Roger, the mayor's son, falling in love.
Reviews
- bild.de : The movie was made a year after the series, although there are only two notable differences: it is in color and Marilyn Munster has been re-cast. "Ghost Party" is a wonderfully weird film that retains the humor of the TV series and feels like a big episode ...

Others
- During the opening scene in which the camera drives down the street towards the Munsters' house, the neighboring house is the famous Norman Bates house from Hitchcock's Psycho .
- For Ghost Party , Marilyn actress Pat Priest was replaced by then 17-year-old Debbie Watson to appeal to a younger audience.
- Gespensterparty was originally conceived as a television film, which is why the film was not shot using the widescreen method .
- In a supporting role, almost obscured by thick make-up, John Carradine can be seen as the crazy butler Cruikshank. Carradine played the role of Count Dracula in the universal classics Frankenstein's House (1944) and Dracula's House (1945).
- The film was released as a double feature with The Ghost and Mr. Chicken , but was not a success.
