Robert Pine (born July 10, 1941 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Robert Pine has been in front of the camera for well over 200 film and cinema productions since the mid-1960s. He achieved greater fame with the portrayal of Sgt. Joseph Getraer in the television series CHiPs produced between 1977 and 1983 . He also played a number of guest roles in famous series such as Bonanza , Charlie's Angels , Knight Rider , Murder is Her Hobby , MacGyver , Star Trek: Raumschiff Voyager , Dr. House , The Office and Grey's Anatomy . Throughout his career, Pine has often played authority figures such as judges, politicians, and officers. In movies his appearances were limited to supporting roles, he played in well-known films like Independence Day , Red Eye and Jobs ; He can also be heard as a bishop in the original English version of the Disney cartoon Frozen - Totally Unabashed .

Pine is part of a family of artists. His in-laws were Anne Gwynne and Max M. Gilford . He is married to their daughter Gwynne Gilford and they are the parents of actors Chris Pine and Katherine Pine . In 2005 he starred in the thriller Confession alongside his son Chris Pine, who had the lead role.
