NGC 2537 = Arp 6 , also bear paw called (Engl. Bear Paw), a merging barred spiral galaxy of Hubble type SB m with extensive star formation in the constellation Lynx. It is estimated to be 20 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years in diameter. Together with PGC 23057 ( NGC 2537A ) it forms an optical galaxy pair .
In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 2233 .

The object was discovered on February 6, 1788 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
