NGC 2520 = NGC 2527 is an open star cluster of the type III1p in the constellation aft deck of the ship in the southern sky . It has an angular extension of 10.0 'and an apparent magnitude of 6.5 mag.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on December 9, 1784 .
