NGC 2532 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 233 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 ly in diameter.
The supernovae SN 1999gb (Type-IIn) and SN 2002hn (Type-Ic) were observed here.
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on February 5, 1788 .
