NGC 2541 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc with an active galaxy core in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 26 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter.
It forms a loose triple together with the galaxies NGC 2500 and NGC 2552 and together with them belongs to the NGC-2841 group, a group of galaxies to which the systems NGC 2537 , NGC 2681 and NGC 2841 also belong.

The object was discovered on March 9, 1788 by the German-British astronomer Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel .
