NGC 2563 is a lenticular galaxy of Hubble type S0 in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 196 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 2560 , NGC 2562 , NGC 2569 , NGC 2570 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on February 13, 1787 .
