NGC 2569 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 224 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 2560 , NGC 2562 , NGC 2563 , NGC 2570 .
The object was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on February 19, 1862 .
