NGC 2585 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 299 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 160,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 2583 and NGC 2584 are in the same area of the sky .
The property was discovered by Frank Muller in 1886 .
