NGC 2583 is an elliptical galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 256 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 2584 and NGC 2585 are located in the same area of the sky .
The property was discovered by Frank Muller in 1886 .
