NGC 2595 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 190 million light years from the Milky Way and about 185,000 light years across.
The galaxies NGC 2598 , IC 2341 , IC 2382 are in the same area of the sky .
The Type Ia / P supernova SN 1999aa was observed here.
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on January 11, 1787 .
