Sauerheim is a district of the Weisendorf market in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on the Sauerheimer Graben , which is a left tributary of the Seebach . The Sauerheimer Graben feeds a chain of ponds, called Poppelsweiher immediately southeast of the village. There are also numerous ponds north of the village. Otherwise the place is immediately surrounded by arable land and grassland. There is a tree by the Poppelsweiher that has been recognized as a natural monument . Approx. Engelholz is 0.5 km to the southwest.

history

The Bamberg bishopric was originally the feudal lord of the place. From 1398 to 1417 Heinrich and Eberhard von Berg owned properties in the village. Then the whole village came to the Lords of Maienthal as their own property . A document, which must have been drawn up between 1427 and 1435, shows that the Maienthal armies sold three farms in the town to the Nuremberg patrician Hans Rieter . In addition to this, the Neuenbürg manor and the Weisendorf manor were later also wealthy in the village. According to the community edict, the manors became patrimonial courts and were allowed to exercise voluntary jurisdiction over the respective property they owned in the village (Neuenbürg: 1812-1835, Weisendorf: 1802-1848).

As part of the community edict, Sauerheim was assigned to the Kairlindach tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community Sauerheim was formed, to which Mitteldorf , Rezelsdorf and Sintmann belonged. With the second community edict (1818) only Mitteldorf was part of the rural community Sauerheim. In 1824 the original rural community was finally restored, but was no longer named after Sauerheim, but after Rezelsdorf.

On January 1, 1972, Sauerheim was incorporated into the community of Weisendorf as part of the regional reform .
