history

In 1303 the place was first mentioned in the Würzburg Lehenbuch . The defining word of the place name is the personal name Retili or Ratili . A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of the settlement. The deed confirmed that Arnold von Dachsbach received two thirds of the tithe of Rezelsdorf from the Würzburg bishop as a fief . This tenth share went to the burgraviate of Nuremberg in the following period . The other tenth share went to the Bamberg Monastery . The knight's seat, which already existed at that time, was owned by the respective lords of the castle. At the end of the 14th century, it was owned by the von Seckendorff family , who sold it to the von Steinlinger family in 1395. In 1479 this was bought by the Nuremberg patrician Sebald Rieter . In 1492 it was inherited by the patricians Kreß von Kressenstein , who owned it for the next three and a half centuries.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 15 properties in Rezelsdorf (4 courtyards, 6 Sölden , 3 drip houses and 2 houses). There was also a castle, a church, a rectory, an inn and a brick factory. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office Dachsbach . The Retzelsdorf manor held the village and community rulership as well as the land rulership over all properties.

In 1810 Rezelsdorf came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict , the place was assigned to the Kairlindach tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community Sauerheim was formed, to which Rezelsdorf also belonged. With the second community edict (1818) Rezelsdorf formed its own rural community, which was combined with Sintmann in 1819 . In 1824 the rural community Sauerheim was incorporated with Mitteldorf into the rural community Rezelsdorf. The administration and jurisdiction of the community of Rezelsdorf was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch and the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch . In the voluntary jurisdiction, one property in Sauerheim was subject to the Weisendorf Patrimonial Court (until 1848), and another property to the Neuenbürg Patrimonial Court (until 1835). On July 12, 1827, the community of Rezelsdorf was assigned to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court and the Erlangen Rent Office, and finally to the Herzogenaurach Rent Office on October 1, 1847 . In 1857 a community of 15 farmers acquired the entire Kressischen property, the castle was sold on and demolished in 1870.

From 1862 Rezelsdorf was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the Rent Office Herzogenaurach (1920–1929: Finanzamt Herzogenaurach , from 1929: Finanzamt Erlangen ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen . The municipality had an area of 10.173 km².

On January 1, 1972, Rezelsdorf was incorporated into the community of Weisendorf as part of the regional reform .
