history

In 1400 the brothers Leonhard and Joachim Pfannenmüller from Boxbrunn were mentioned in a document. This is probably also the first written mention of the place. In 1504 the Frauenaurach monastery was the landlord in the village. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Kulmbach caste and jurisdiction office Dachsbach , but this was disputed Hochstift Bamberg (e.g. in 1535).

At the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties in Boxbrunn. The high court and the village and community rulership continued to be exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office in Dachsbach . The landlords were the Brandenburg-Bayreuth monastery office in Frauenaurach (4 yards, 2 estates) and the Neuenbürg manor (1 yard).

In 1810 Boxbrunn came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict , the place was assigned to the Kairlindach tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community Kairlindach was formed, to which Boxbrunn also belonged. With the second community edict (1818) Boxbrunn became its own rural community, to which Ailersbach , Biengarten and Mechelwind belonged. The municipality of Boxbrunn was under the administration and jurisdiction of the district court Neustadt an der Aisch and the financial administration of the Neustadt an der Aisch rent office . In the voluntary jurisdiction, two properties in Boxbrunn were subordinate to the Neuenbürg Patrimonial Court (until 1835). On July 22, 1822, Biengarten became an independent rural community. On July 12, 1827, the community of Boxbrunn was assigned to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court and the Erlangen Rent Office, and finally to the Herzogenaurach Rent Office on October 1, 1847 . From 1862 Boxbrunn was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued by the rent office of Herzogenaurach (1920–1929: Finanzamt Herzogenaurach , from 1929: Finanzamt Erlangen ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen . The municipality had an area of 4,596 km².

On May 1, 1978, Boxbrunn was incorporated into the municipality of Weisendorf as part of the regional reform , while the districts of Ailersbach, Biengarten and Mechelwind were incorporated into the town of Höchstadt an der Aisch .
