In the forest to the east of the village there is the Heuberg hill ( 336  m above sea level ). history

In 1419 Sigmund Schad owned a hat and a tithe in Schmiedelberg, which was subsequently acquired by the Nuremberg citizen Sebald Schlüsselberger and sold to Erkinger von Seckendorff zu Weisendorf in 1466 . Since then, Schmiedelberg has been associated with the Weisendorf manor. In 1504 two farms belonged to Balthasar von Seckendorff, one was Nuremberg and one belonged to the Frauenaurach monastery . The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Kulmbach office of Dachsbach . In 1665 village rules were set for Oberlindach and Schmiedelberg.

At the end of the 18th century there were 6 properties in Schmiedelberg. The high court continued to exercise the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office in Dachsbach . The village and township government had the manor Weisendorf held. The landlords were the Brandenburg-Bayreuth monastery office in Frauenaurach (1 estate, brickworks) and the Weisendorf manor (4 estates, shepherd's house). There was also a courtyard that was subordinate to the community.

As part of the community edict , Schmiedelberg was assigned to the Kairlindach tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 it belonged to the rural community of Kairlindach. With the second community edict (1818) it belonged to the newly formed rural community Oberlindach . In voluntary jurisdiction, the whole place was subject to the patrimonial court of Weisendorf (until 1848).

On May 1, 1978 Schmiedelberg was incorporated into the community of Weisendorf as part of the regional reform .
