geography
The village is located about 2 km southeast of Weisendorf and is surrounded to the south and east by the Reuther Forest. In the north there is arable land and grassland. The hallway is called Mühlacker.
history
The place was a fiefdom of the bishopric of Bamberg . Land for a farm was gained by clearing. The lords of Maienthal were the original fiefdoms . In 1438 the fief was passed to the Nuremberg patricians Rieter von Kornburg , and in 1465 to the Weisendorf manor . After the lords of the castle of Lauter died out in 1722, the court returned to the Bamberg Monastery. In addition to the farm, there were two estates from the 15th century that were subordinate to the Bamberg office of Herzogenaurach. During the Thirty Years War , the settlement was completely destroyed. In 1764 the farm was destroyed.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 8 properties in Reuth (1 inn, 7 Sölden ). The high court exercised the Bamberg center office Herzogenaurach . The village and township government had the Office Herzogenaurach held, which is also the sole landlord was over all property.
As part of the community edict, Reuth was assigned to the Hammerbach tax district, which was formed in 1811 . In 1818 it belonged to the newly formed rural community Reinersdorf , but on January 16, 1825 , it was re- ceded to the rural community Hammerbach.
In 1956, after Hammerbach had received a severance payment of 8,600 DM, the village with its 62 inhabitants was reclassified from Hammerbach to Weisendorf.
