history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1303 in the Würzburg Lehenbuch . The place name indicates beekeeping . The first known tenant of the "villa Pingarten" is Reichsministeriale Herdegen von Gründlach . In 1558, Ernst von Crailsheim bought the hamlet of Biengarten from Hans Philipp von Seckendorff zu Adlitz . Until 1706 Biengarten was owned by the von Crailsheim family.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties in Biengarten (1 courtyard, 2 half courtyards, 4 Sölden , 6 houses). The high court exercised the Bamberg center office in Höchstadt , which - concerning 4 houses - was disputed by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office in Dachsbach . The manor Neuhaus held the village and community rulership as well as the land rulership over all properties .

In 1810 Biengarten came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict , the place was assigned to the Kairlindach tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community Kairlindach was formed, to which Biengarten also belonged. With the second community edict (1818), Biengarten was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community Boxbrunn . On July 22, 1822, Biengarten became an independent rural community. It was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch in administration and jurisdiction and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch . In the voluntary jurisdiction, one property in Biengarten was subordinate to the Neuenbürg Patrimonial Court (until 1835) and 16 properties to the Neuhaus Patrimonial Court (until 1848). On July 12, 1827, the community of Biengarten was assigned to the Herzogenaurach Regional Court and the Erlangen Rent Office, and finally to the Herzogenaurach Rent Office on October 1, 1847 . From 1862 Biengarten was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the Rent Office Herzogenaurach (1920–1929: Finanzamt Herzogenaurach , from 1929: Finanzamt Erlangen ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen . The municipality had an area of 2.289 km².

From 1920 to 1960 Johann Grau was mayor of Biengarten.

On January 1, 1972, Biengarten was incorporated into the city of Höchstadt an der Aisch as part of the regional reform .
