Sad Lovers & Giants is a British rock band from Watford , Hertfordshire formed in 1981 .

Over the years, the group's line-up changed several times and there were always longer phases in which they were not or only rarely active. After the first two albums, guitarist Tristan Garel-Funk left the band to form the group The Snake Corps .

Musically, the new wave band lives from the voice of Garçe Allard, which is somewhat reminiscent of the young Jim Kerr from Simple Minds and the guitar sounds of Tony McGuinness, which are not so full of effects, but very sound-creating.

Stylistically, the formation is often compared to the English bands The Cure , The Chameleons or The Alarm .

Pieces were also recorded together with the Dutch group The Essence.

Although no new album has been released for more than ten years, the group still performs live at irregular intervals.
