Sterpersdorf is a district of the town of Höchstadt an der Aisch in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .
geography
The parish village is on the right bank of the Aisch . The place is surrounded by arable land and grassland with smaller forest parcels. In the north the corridor is called Brühl . Immediately to the east of the village is the Eichelberg ( 296 m above sea level ).
history
In 1144 a Heinrich von Sterpersdorf was mentioned in a document, which is also the first written mention of the place. In 1160 the place was mentioned as "Stertzfridesdorf" and in 1243 as "Sterfridesdorf". The defining word is Stercfried, the personal name of the founder. The original feudal lord was the Würzburg monastery , which had this and other places in the area laid out according to plan. In 1303 an old tenth of the place was mentioned in the Würzburg fief book , which was awarded to Hermann von Türlin. Another feudal lord were the lords of Hohenlohe-Brauneck . They enfeoffed the Seckendorffer . In 1383 Konrad von Seckendorff sold an estate to the early mass in Höchstadt, whereby the feudal lord waived his rights. This tithe was taken over by the margraves in the 15th century .
The important trade route Würzburg – Lonnerstadt – Höchstadt – Nuremberg ran through Sterpersdorf. Customs were levied at the Aischbrücke. In 1303 Würzburg granted customs sovereignty to the ministerials of Lonnerstadt. In 1403 they sold the right to Hans von Vestenberg . A little later it went to the Nuremberg patricians Rummel . This created particular difficulties because the imperial city of Nuremberg was able to assert claims in the middle of the Bamberg area. Contracts of 1523 and 1537 initially exempted the Höchstadter trade from this task. In 1609 Bamberg had the customs post closed against the fierce resistance of the Paumgartner, to whom this right had come.
The Thirty Years' War represented a deep turning point in the local history . In 1622, the residents themselves tore down the bridge in order to pave the way for marauding troops. In 1627 a wave of plague struck the place , in 1631 there was a Swedish invasion, with the overall result that the place was almost empty and was completely in ashes. In 1671 the Bamberg bishops took over the customs law.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 12 properties in Sterpersdorf (1 Hube , 2 courtyards, 2 half-courtyards, 1 forge, 1 mill, 2 estates, 2 houses) and a community pastor's house. The high court was exercised by the Bamberg center of Höchstadt . The caste office in Höchstadt held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties .
In 1802 Sterpersdorf came to Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Sterpersdorf tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Antoniuskapelle , Greiendorf , Greienmühle , Großneuses , Kleinneuses , Lappach and Schwarzenbach belonged. With the second community edict (1818), two rural communities were formed:
- Schwarzenbach with Großneuses, Kleinneuses and Lappach,
- Sterpersdorf with Antonius Chapel, Greiendorf and Greienmühle.
The municipality of Sterpersdorf was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Höchstadt regional court and the tax office of the Höchstadt in the financial administration . From 1862, Sterpersdorf was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the rent office of Höchstadt (1920–1929: tax office Höchstadt , from 1929: tax office Forchheim ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Höchstadt until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Höchstadt , from 1959 district court of Forchheim . The municipality had an area of 4.221 km².
After 1961, but before 1970, Weidendorf was reassigned to Sterpersdorf. On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Sterpersdorf was incorporated into the town of Höchstadt an der Aisch as part of the regional reform .
Today's village structure goes back to the resettlement after the Thirty Years War. The social structure of the village, however, has changed a lot recently. The former purely rural village became a commuter village from the 1960s.

religion
Ecclesiastically, Sterpersdorf initially belonged to the original parish of Lonnerstadt. With the formation of the parish of Höchstadt, it was incorporated into this. Already at the beginning of the 15th century a chapel with the patron saints Vitus , Modestus and Crescentia was attested. However, it is much older, which can be inferred from the name of the cartridge. During the Reformation, the imperial city of Nuremberg tried to move Sterpersdorf to the now Protestant parish of Lonnerstadt. On May 7, 1878, Sterpersdorf became an independent parish. The place was mostly Catholic until the middle of the 20th century and is parish to St. Vitus (Sterpersdorf) to this day . The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Oswald (Lonnerstadt) .
traffic
The district road ERH 18 runs to Schwarzenbach (1.5 km south) or the federal road 470 crosses to Lonnerstadt (2 km north-west). A community connecting road runs to Weidendorf (2 km southwest) or to Greiendorf (0.6 km northeast).
