Weidendorf is a district of the town of Höchstadt an der Aisch in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is on the right bank of the Aisch on the edge of the wide Aisch valley. In the north-west it borders grassland, in the south-east it borders arable land and smaller forest areas. There is the Lauberberg ( 308  m above sea level ).

history

The favorable location of the place in the fertile Aischgrund means that it was founded at the time of the Franconian conquest (up to the 8th century). Against this, however, speaks that the place was originally a Bamberg fiefdom , therefore it was founded in the 11th century at the earliest, but probably in the 12th century, i.e. a later phase of the country's expansion. In 1612 the place comprised eight goods belonging to the Bamberg bishopric. During the Thirty Years War the place became deserted.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 8 properties in Weidendorf (2 courtyards, 1 half courtyard, 3 Sölden , 1 house) and a community shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Bambergische Centamt Höchstadt , but this was contested by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Castel and Jurisdiktionsamt Dachsbach and in 1795 it was finally granted high jurisdiction. The authority of Höchstadt held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties .

As part of the community edict, Weidendorf was assigned to the Uehlfeld tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community Mailach was formed, to which the place belonged.

After 1961, but before 1970, Weidendorf was incorporated into the municipality of Sterpersdorf . On May 1, 1978, Weidendorf was finally incorporated into the town of Höchstadt an der Aisch as part of the regional reform .
