NGC 2615 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 181 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 510 , IC 514 , IC 515 , IC 517 .
The Type Ia supernova SN 2014ao was observed here.
The object was discovered by Édouard Stephan on February 6, 1885 .
