IC 2382 is a lens-shaped galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 269 million light years from the Milky Way and about 35,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2595 , NGC 2598 , NGC 2599 .
The object was discovered on April 16, 1896 by Stéphane Javelle .
