NGC 3743 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 489 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3745 , NGC 3746 , NGC 3751 , NGC 3758 .
The object was discovered by Ralph Copeland on March 18, 1874 .
