NGC 3692 is an active spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 73 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 2842 , IC 2853 , IC 2855 , IC 2857 .
The object was discovered on April 15, 1784 by Wilhelm Herschel .
