NGC 3692 is an active spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 73 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 2842 , IC 2853 , IC 2855 , IC 2857 .

The object was discovered on April 15, 1784 by Wilhelm Herschel .
