IC 2853 is a spiral radio galaxy of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 278 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies IC 696 , IC 2850 , IC 2857 , IC 2867 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 27, 1906 .
