NGC 3877 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble-type Sc in the constellation Great Bear. It is an estimated 42 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.

NGC 3877 is a member of the M109 group , a group of galaxies believed to have over 50 galaxies.

In 1998 the Type IIn supernova was observed in this galaxy , which was designated SN 1998S .

The object was discovered on February 5, 1788 by the astronomer William Herschel .
