NGC 3879 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Draco the northern sky . It is estimated to be 69 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on April 7, 1793 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
