NGC 3886 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 261 million light years from the Milky Way , has a diameter of about 95,000 ly, and is a member of the Leo galaxy cluster Abell 1367 .
The galaxies NGC 3861 , NGC 3873 , NGC 3875 , IC 2955 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Heinrich d'Arrest on May 9, 1864 .
