NGC 3880 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E0 in the constellation Ursa Major at the northern sky . It is an estimated 449 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3871 , NGC 3878 , NGC 3881 , IC 2959 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on April 29, 1827 .
