The women's 400-meter run at the 1958 European Athletics Championships was held on August 19 and 21, 1958 in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium. The competition was on the program of an international championship for the first time. Only twelve participants started.

The runners from the Soviet Union achieved a double success. Marija Itkina became European champion . She won ahead of Ekaterina Parlyuk. Bronze went to the Briton Molly Hiscox.
