Barbara ("Bärbel") Mayer , Reinnagel since 1961 (born March 14, 1935 in Rudolstadt , Thuringia ), is a German athlete and Olympic participant who was a successful sprinter in the 1950s and 1960s .

In 1956 she was involved in five relay world records , in 1958 in another. She took part in the Olympic Games in 1956 and the European Championships in 1958 and 1962 , where she started for the GDR in a joint German team. She set three more GDR records in the season. In 1958, 1959, 1961 and 1962 she was GDR champion in the 400-meter run . In 1961 she married Helfried Reinnagel .
