From August 1962, the French Air Alsace operated as an air taxi based in Colmar .
In 1974 the company also entered the liner service and first served Lyon and Belfort . With an expansion of the flight destinations came an expansion of the fleet with a Fokker F-27 and a Nord 262 , which were supposed to complement the Cessnas from the air taxi operation. A special highlight of the Air Alsace fleet was the VFW 614 .
On July 6, 1981, Air Alsace took over the operation of the Basel-Mulhouse - Lyon and Basel-Mulhouse- Nice routes from Air Inter .
In 1982, after some time of rapprochement, it was finally decided to merge with the airlines Touraine Air Transport (TAT) and Air Alpes , whereupon Air Alsace as a company and name disappeared from business.
