Air Littoral was a French regional airline based in Le Castellet .
history
Air Littoral was founded in 1973.
From 1991 to 1992 KLM Royal Dutch Airlines held a 35% share in the company. In 1998 the parent company of Swissair , SAirGroup , acquired 44% of Air Littoral, this stake was later increased to 49%. During the same period, it became a member of the Swissair-initiated airline alliance Qualiflyer Group and was later to merge with the other SAirGroup holdings Air Liberté and AOM . As a result of Swissair's bankruptcy in 2001, this did not materialize and the shares were sold to the former CEO of Air Littoral, Marc Dufour.
On February 17, 2004, a court ordered the closure of Air Littoral after its license had previously been revoked by the authorities as a result of bankruptcy. Several rescue and takeover attempts had failed.

When visibility was very poor, the cloud base was 30 m. All 16 inmates were killed. It was a controlled flight into terrain .
- On November 18, 1988, a Fairchild Swearingen Metro II of Air Littoral (registration F-GCPG ) sank again shortly after taking off from Montluçon Guéret airfield and hit 600 m behind the runway. The machine caught fire; both pilots and the two passengers were killed. The stick pusher was probably activated incorrectly and pushed the machine down.
- On July 30, 1997, an ATR-42 (registration number F-GPYE ) touched down significantly too late and too quickly when landing at Florence Airport .
