CFRNA or CIDNA was a Franco-Romanian airline that operated the flight connections between France and Central Eastern Europe and the Balkans from 1920 to 1933 . The full company was Compagnie franco-roumaine de navigation aérienne ( French ) or Compania Franco-Română de Navigație Aeriană ( Romanian , French-Romanian airline ), since 1925 - Compagnie internationale de navigation aérienne or Compania Internațională De Navigație Aeriană (International Air Transport Company ) .

history

The company, which was founded on January 1, 1920, opened a connection between Paris and Prague via Strasbourg in the year it was founded and on July 7, 1920 received a concession for the branch line between Prague and Warsaw . The latter line was only opened on April 12, 1921 due to the war . By 1923, the main route via Bucharest was extended to Istanbul and a variant via Sofia was added later. There were also stopovers at the Fürth-Atzenhof airfield and later in Breslau ( Kleingandau airfield ).

On January 1, 1925, the company was renamed CIDNA, as the goals have branched far beyond the original connection. In 1930 the internal Romanian connections were spun off into the LARES company . On October 7, 1933, CIDNA merged into the newly founded Air France .

aims

In 1921, CFRNA operated a route Paris - Strasbourg - Prague - Warsaw (and back). There were flights in both directions every day except Sunday with departure (in Paris and Warsaw) at 8:00 a.m. and arrival at 7:30 p.m.

CIDNA recently flew the following routes:

  • The main route, which was served every day except Sunday: Paris - Strasbourg - Nuremberg - Prague - Vienna - Budapest - Belgrade - Bucharest
    • The Bucharest - Istanbul section was only served on Tuesday
  • Three branches, on 1-3 days of the week:
