history

The company was founded in 1994 under the name Acvila Air by Ion Menciu and was initially active in international cargo air and charter traffic. In 1998 and 1999 , Acvila Air also carried out weapons transports to Nigeria for Israeli and Romanian companies that violated the current UN embargo. In 2004 the company acquired two McDonnell Douglas MD-80s , which were used in wet leases for other airlines. At about the same time, Ion Menciu was charged with illegal arms transport in Romania and Acvila Air was deprived of its international flight rights. In order to be able to continue flight operations, the new company JeTran Air was founded in 2005 , into which Acvila Air was merged in April 2006. In 2008 Ten Airways took over the flight operations and aircraft of JeTran Air.
