Incidents
- On January 10, 1991, the President's aircraft, the Boeing 707-3K1C YR-ABD , was irreparably damaged during a local test flight. When landing at Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport , the left wing touched the ground, so a fire broke out in engine number 1 and the outer left wing broke off. The plane came to an uncontrolled halt in the grass next to the runway and caught fire. All 13 crew members were able to save themselves.
- On December 13, 1995, an Antonov An-24 ( YR-AMR ) operated for Banat Air crashed into the ground shortly after taking off from Verona Airport due to a stall . The reason was that the machine had not been de-iced despite snowfall. In addition, it was overloaded by at least two tons. All 49 people on board were killed (see also Banat Air Flight 166 ) .
- On April 22, 2008, a BAe 146-200 ( YR-BEB ) rented to Carpatair fell off the runway at Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport after the main landing gear collapsed. All 73 occupants were able to save themselves, but the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
