St Barth Commuter is a French regional airline based in Gustavia on Saint-Barthélemy and based on the Aéroport Rémy de Haenen .
history
The origins of the St Barth Commuter lie in Air Saint Barthelemy , founded in 1995 , which started operations with de Havilland Canada DHC-6 and initially flew to Philipsburg ( Sint Maarten ). The company was bought by Air Guadeloupe in 1999 together with Air Martinique and Air Saint Martin . The four companies then formed the "Air Guadeloupe Group". On July 1, 2000, the companies merged, resulting in Air Caraïbes .
Immediately after the merger, Air Caraïbes founded the new subsidiary St Barth Commuter , which, like its predecessor, is based on Saint-Barthélemy. Flight operations began with four Britten-Norman BN-2 Islanders . A Piper PA-23 Aztec added to the fleet in June 2002. The first Cessna 208B Grand Caravan was taken over in 2009. This type of aircraft then gradually replaced the older machines.
