For orientation and classification of the performances, the scores achieved in 1985 according to the current rating system are also listed for comparison. With regard to the placements, there would have been a shift afterwards:
- Seventh-placed Mary Rand would be fourth.
- Sixth-placed Maria Bibro would be fifth.
- The fourth-placed Dinie Hobers would be sixth.
- The fifth placed Olga Davidová would be seventh.
But these comparisons are only indicative, because the different standards of the time must apply as a basis.
European champion Galina Bystrowa - here in 1973 - one day later she also won the 80 meter hurdles title
Maria Chojnacka, later Maria Piątkowska, finished ninth - the next day in the long jump in sixth place
