The women's pentathlon at the 1958 European Athletics Championships was held on August 19 and 20, 1958 in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium.

The Soviet all-rounders celebrated a double victory. World record holder Galina Bystrowa became European champion . She won ahead of Nina Vinogradova. Bronze went to the German athlete Edeltraud Eiberle .

Day 1 - August 19: shot put , high jump , 200-meter run
Day 2 - August 20: 80-meter hurdles , long jump
Valuation was based on a points table valid from 1954 .

For orientation and classification of the performances, the scores achieved in 1985 according to the current rating system are also listed for comparison. With regard to the placements, there would have been a shift afterwards:

  • Seventh-placed Mary Rand would be fourth.
  • Sixth-placed Maria Bibro would be fifth.
  • The fourth-placed Dinie Hobers would be sixth.
  • The fifth placed Olga Davidová would be seventh.

But these comparisons are only indicative, because the different standards of the time must apply as a basis.
