European champion Heide Rosendahl improved the EM -record on 5299 P under the then valid vote 1969-4675 P after today heptathlon valid score of the 1985th Germany BRBR Germany

execution

The five disciplines of the pentathlon took place over two days.

Time schedule
Day 1 - September 17th Day 2 - September 18th
100 m hurdles 11.00 a.m. Long jump 12.30 p.m.
Shot put 12 p.m. 200 m 5.40 p.m.
high jump 6.30 p.m.

The scoring was based on a point table valid from 1969.

For orientation and classification of the performances, the scores achieved for the heptathlon according to the current rating system from 1985 are listed for comparison . After that, there would have been other placements in two places:

  • Eleventh-placed Miep van Beek and twelfth-placed Miroslava Březíková should have swapped their ranks.
  • The same exchange would have taken place for Jitka Birnbaumová in fourteenth and Kathrin Lardi in fifteenth.

But these comparisons are only indicative, because the different standards of the time must apply as a basis.
