Margot Eppinger (born January 8, 1952 in Denkendorf ), married Margot Bayer is a former German athlete . She competed in pentathlon , long jump and hurdles .

In the pentathlon of the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1971 , she finished tenth. At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich , she was twelfth in the pentathlon .

In 1975 she was ninth in the long jump at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Katowice .

At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal , she came in tenth place in the pentathlon .

In 1973 and 1975 she became German pentathlon champion .

She started for TSV Neuhausen until 1971 , then for LG Filder .
