The gymnastics and sports club Neuhausen / Filder 1898 eV is a German sports club from Neuhausen on the Filder . The TSV with its nine departments Badminton , Handball , Martial Arts , Athletics , rehabilitation sport , skiing , dancing , gymnastics and volleyball the biggest club and sport providers in Neuhausen auf den Fildern. The association currently has more than 2,600 members. In addition to the actual sports program, the association also runs a privately owned sports kindergarten. The TSV has its own gym with gymnastics room and weight room and offers more than 100 different sports offers per week in its own hall or in the community's sports facilities.

Handball

The most famous department of the club is the handball department, the first team of which played in 2006, 2008 and 2009 under coach Markus Locher in the Regionalliga Süd and under Florian Beck in 2012 and 2013 in the 3rd division . She has been trained by Alexandr Prasolov , who replaced Florian Beck , since July 1, 2013 . After losing relegation, the team was relegated to the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga in 2013 . In 2014 he was promoted back to the 3rd division, which was followed by relegation to the top division. In 2017 the team rose to the 3rd division.

The team calls themselves MadDogs . Other men's teams play in the district class and the district league C of the handball district Esslingen-Teck.

The women's team of the club called MadCats rose after a successful relegation round in 2010 in the regional league season 2 of the handball association Württemberg .

Two former TSV Neuhausen players later played in the handball Bundesliga for Frisch Auf Göppingen . These are the German national players Dragoș Oprea and Manuel Späth . Felix Schmidl played with a second game right both for Neuhausen and for the then second division TV Bittenfeld . Sebastian Arnold played with a second game right for both Neuhausen and the first division club TVB 1898 Stuttgart .

All youth teams play handball at district level in the 2016/17 season.

Successes of the handball department

  • 2005 and 2007 promotion to the Regionalliga Süd (after relegation in 2006)
  • 2008 5th place in the Regionalliga Süd and reaching the 2nd round of the DHB Cup (38:42 against Bundesliga club MT Melsungen , tenth in the 2007/2008 season )

Martial arts

In 2012 the martial arts groups were spun off from the gymnastics department into a separate department. There are currently over 100 members training in the areas of kickboxing, Taekwon Do and ATS (a JiJitsu-related self-defense sport). The martial arts athletes regularly take the first places at German and Württemberg championships. There was even a world champion (Karolin Puhahn, 1992) and a runner-up European champion (Peter Haid, 1983) at TSV.

Together with LG Filder , the TSV athletes train 2 to 3 times a week. In addition to the classic disciplines, the focus is also on the acceptance of the sports badge every Friday in the summer months. Sabrina Häfele is currently the most successful athlete.

Rehab sports

The rehab sports groups of the TSV train under medical supervision and only according to prescription for the benefit of the health of their members. The department's sports groups offer people support in coping with the consequences of their illness or injuries in the areas of "post-stroke exercise", "cardiovascular exercise", "vascular exercise", "diabetes" or "lung problems". Both the rehabilitation and gymnastics departments have additional offers such as Nordic walking, Pilates or yoga.

In addition to ski gymnastics twice a week, the ski department organizes numerous family and youth camps for skiers and snowboarders in the winter season. Every year in November there is a well-stocked ski bazaar for new and used winter sports items in the Jahnturnhalle. In cooperation with a sports retailer, you can also have the skis you have purchased adjusted and test them on the TSV ski opening run that takes place shortly afterwards.

On Friday and Sunday evenings you swing your legs at TSV. The couples practice here under the guidance of an expert dance sport trainer. Dancing is probably the only couple sport that can be practiced together from childhood to old age.
