The high jump of the men at the 1971 European Athletics Championships was on 13 and 14 August 1971 at the Olympic Stadium of Helsinki held.

There were two medals for the Soviet high jumpers: gold and bronze. Kestutis Šapka became European champion . He won ahead of the Romanian Csaba Dosa. Bronze went to Rustam Akhmetov .

qualification

27 participants competed in two groups for a qualifying round. The qualification height for direct entry into the final was 2.12 m. Seventeen athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue) and entered the final on the following day.
