Karen Mack

Karen Mack (born October 9, 1947 in Oberstdorf ) is a former German athlete who competed in 13 competitions for the Federal Republic of Germany from 1970 to 1976.

The 1.76 m tall Karen Mack started out as a trampoline jumper at TSV Oberstdorf, during her competitive athletic career in athletics, she started for TSV 1860 Munich . She won her first German championship title in 1969 in the pentathlon . In 1970 she took third place in the pentathlon behind Heide Rosendahl and Ingrid Mickler . In 1970 Karen Mack won the indoor and outdoor championship titles in the high jump . In 1971 and 1972, Mack finished second in the pentathlon behind Heide Rosendahl. In 1972, Karen Mack won the championship title in the high jump for the second time. In 1974 and 1975, Karen Mack finished fourth twice in the pentathlon.

Karen Mack was nominated to start at the European Championships in 1969, but could not compete because of the boycott of the German team. Two years later she reached tenth place in the high jump and fourth place in the pentathlon at the European Championships in Helsinki . At the 1972 Olympic Games , she finished seventh in the pentathlon.
