The Veyre is a river in France that runs in the Puy-de-Dôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park on the northern flank of the mountain peak Puy de la Vedrine (1311 m) in the municipality of Saulzet-le-Froid , generally drains in an easterly direction and flows into the municipality of Les Martres-de-Veyre after 33 kilometers as a left tributary into the Allier .
