geography
Lockstedt is a heaped village . It is located immediately northwest of the Aller . The Spetze flows into the Aller at Lockstedt. Beyond the Aller, the border between Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony runs parallel to the river .
history
The municipality of Lockstedt first belonged to the Gardelegen district and later to the Haldensleben district . In 1939 Lockstedt had 272 inhabitants. In Lockstedt there was a unit of the GDR border troops . On April 14, 1994 Lockstedt became part of the city of Oebisfelde , which on July 1, 1994 joined the newly formed Ohrekreis . Unlike Lockstedt, the city of Oebisfelde had previously belonged to the Klötze district , so Lockstedt was part of the Klötze district for a few weeks.
Infrastructure
In the center is a neo-Romanesque village church. The former barracks of the border troops is on the eastern edge of the village.
