The Tunnel - Mord knows no borders (Original title: English: The Tunnel, French: Tunnel) is a British - French co-produced television series from 2013-2017, based on the Danish - Swedish series Die Brücke - Transit in den Tod (Original title: Danish: Broen, Swedish: Bron). The series premiered on British and French pay TV providers Sky and Canal + . Its German premiere took place on September 24, 2014 on the pay station Sony Entertainment Television , the FreeTV broadcast took place on April 15, 2015 on ServusTV . The series consists of 24 episodes in three seasons.

After a high-ranking French politician is found dead in a tunnel on the border between Great Britain and France, investigators from the two neighboring countries are tasked with solving the case. The British policeman Karl Roebuck and the French policewoman Elise Wassermann have to team up and hunt down the murderer, whose “moral crusade” costs more people their lives. After the perpetrator is caught, the two police officers face further crimes that take place on the borders of their two countries. In the process, they come across an international terrorist gang that does not shy away from kidnapping and murder. These cases mutate more and more into an international conflict, in which MI5 is ultimately entangled, which hinders the investigators in their investigation.
