Dane DeHaan
Dane William DeHaan (born February 6, 1986 in Allentown , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor .
Life
DeHaan was born in 1986 (1987 according to other sources) in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and grew up with an older sister in the village of Zionsville in a middle-class family. His father is a computer scientist and his mother works for a local furniture manufacturer.
DeHaan attended high school in nearby Emmaus . Even in early childhood he was enthusiastic about acting and appeared in various productions in children's theater. He later attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he graduated from Drama in 2008.
That same year he had a guest role on the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit . After a major role in the television series In Treatment , DeHaan had his breakthrough with the role of Andrew Detmer in the science fiction film Chronicle - What are you capable of? . In the same year he starred alongside Shia LaBeouf , Tom Hardy and Jason Clarke in the literary adaptation Lawless .
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , the shooting of which took place from February to June 2013, DeHaan played Harry Osborn , the friend and opponent of Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, who mutated towards the end of the film into the villainous Green Goblin .
In 2016 he played the leading role of the young, ambitious banker Lockhart, who is supposed to bring the company boss Pembroke back to New York from a wellness resort in the Swiss Alps, in the Gore Verbinski mystery thriller A Cure for Wellness, which was largely filmed in Germany .
Further major engagements followed in 2017. In the highly budgeted French science fiction comic film Valerian - The City of a Thousand Planets , DeHaan played the title role of the young, daring major Valerian on a special mission, directed by Luc Besson . And in the costume drama Tulip Fever, a Dutch painter of the Golden Age .
Dane DeHaan has been married to actress Anna Wood since 2012 , with whom he has been dating since 2006. The couple currently resides in Williamsburg , a neighborhood in Brooklyn .
