For the 2010/11 season Tinordi moved to the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League . There he immediately established himself as a regular player and played 63 games in his debut season. At the same time, the 1.98 meter tall defender led all the players on his team with 140 penalty minutes. The following season he was named captain of the Knights. Although he missed a total of ten games due to an eye injury, Tinordi recorded the best value in the league at the end of the season with a plus / minus balance of +39. His 14 assists were also a personal best. As the best team of the regular season, the London Knights finally managed to win the J. Ross Robertson Cup in the play-offs . In the Memorial Cup , however, the team failed due to the Cataractes de Shawinigan . Even so, Tinordi was voted into the tournament's All-Star Team .
Before the 2012/13 season , Jarred Tinordi moved to the Hamilton Bulldogs , the then farm team of the Canadiens de Montréal , in the American Hockey League . In March 2013 he was finally called up for the first time in the NHL squad of the Canadiens, where he played his first game on March 16, 2013 against the New Jersey Devils . He also scored his first scorer point when he prepared a goal from Tomáš Plekanec .
In January 2016, Tinordi and Stefan Fournier moved to the Arizona Coyotes , which Victor Bartley and John Scott gave him to the Canadiens in return . In March of the same year Tinordi was banned from playing 20 games because he had violated the NHL doping regulations ("Performance Enhancing Substances Program"). According to his own statement, he was not aware of the ban on the unspecified substance.
After the 2016/17 season, which he had spent exclusively in the AHL, the defender joined the Pittsburgh Penguins as a free agent in July 2017 . In July 2018, Tinordi also signed a one-year contract with the Nashville Predators , which was extended by two years before it expired.
